1-The biography of the martyr in his own words along with memories

 I am the child of king Abdolazim, I was born in a house where a family lived in every available space.

I am now forty six years old. Exactly 34 years ago meaning in 1336 equivalent of 1956 I was in the sixth grade. In that year England and France with the help of Israel attacked Egypt and I as a 12 or 13 year old boy was under the influence of the advertisements of the Arabic countries so I wrote something on the blackboard (The golf is behind, it’s because of Arabic people. (

 When the bell rang we all sat in our seats, that day the principal decided to pay our class a visit when he saw the writing he asked who wrote this? No one said a word including me, suddenly one of the kids got up and said "sir can I say" that was written by and he said my name, the principal screamed for a while then said " why have you got into rational ideas" then he told me to go to his office so he could give me my file and send me home meaning exception. Of course one of the teachers took the situation in hand and made me understand that I should not get into those kinds of things.

Later in life, when we were young men and we used to say things bigger than our heads somehow the elders would make us understand that we can not always get into rational ideas.

Fortunately life took us in a way that we realized that pretending to be knowledgeable will not make us so. Like in the words of Khaje Shamseldin Mohammad Hafez Shirazi "You are your own face don't shame yourself” I tried to live by these words and thank God it has worked so far. Of course whatever we write are our inside feelings just like those who make movies. But if we accept God within us then he will show up in our work. Of course I do not claim this but I do try.

 With the start of our crusade we went to the villages to do the work of God in 58. In 59 as representative of crusaders we started our work in television. One of our friends at the time was Hossein Hashemi who had just returned from Canada he also came to work with us.

Even an education in philosophy was not enough we had to be in search of the truth. And whoever really wants it will find it. Now I will talk to you about a way that has been traveled and experienced. I earned an architectural degree from the University of Tehran but what I am doing now has nothing to do with it. Humbly whatever I learned has been from outside. I can confidently say the best education comes in the shadow of Islam. Before the revolution I did not make movies although I was familiar with the work. With the beginning of the revolution I put all of my writings in a bag and burnt them.

Today's art unfortunately is traditional but I suppose it was faith that I put the shovel aside and pick up the camera .Later on Hossein Hashemi had to go to the front lines and at Ghasre Shirin he was taken captive so we had to continue without him and from the year 58 we have made 100 films.

2-Friend’s memories;

As far as his family, we didn’t know much about them every now and again we'd go to say hello. But I remember if they ever had nice food or sweets he would take it but would never eat it .The host would say “please have another " and he would gladly say yes.

He'd say "I'll take this one to eat with my wife and kids" it was interesting that sweet things he 'd take home to share with his family and they would always say that it is important for us to share the good, happy and sweet things with our families. When we got to Khoramshahr it hadn’t become the bloody town yet it still looked decent.

If the enemy did attack we had enough equipment to put everything on film, I basically did everything myself, there was one other person martyr Gholam Abbas Malek Makan who guarded the film crew with an m-1 riffle. Later he separated from us although we stayed friends; he left the film crew and joined the fighting but got martyred in Abadan some time later.

3-The occupation story;

Program of occupation, history and why it was started;

 Right from the beginning our thoughts about the crusade was that no matter what happened we had to perform our duties and it had nothing to do with the T.V. crew it was a principal by itself. From the start of the T.V. crew whenever anything happen our feelings came out too.

 For instance, the floods in Khoozestan In 1980-1981 which later we went back and made a documentary of the truth. Later when the disturbance of Khusro Nasser Ghashghai began we went to Firoozabad of Shiraz and when Firoozabad was surrounded we were working with the military and we prepared a series called (Khangazidegan). It was at that time that it was so obvious that Bani Sadr even though a Prime minister he had his hand in the pot too. We had this on film and the opportunity to put it on air.

In reality, the first scenes of the war were taken there with the help of the tribal chiefs. Before the official beginning of the war the Iraqi assaults had begun days before. Mr. Seyed Hossein Hashemi who was an old friend of mine and had a cinema degree from Canada along with another gentleman called Mr. Sarati was in the front lines before the war began. They were both taken captive in Ghasre Shirin until recently when they were released with the rest of the captives. This was actually the first film crew to go to war.

 4-Memories of the martyr's wife;

A lot of questions used to be asked of me about my memories of him. He wasn’t much of a talker. Details were not important to him, what mattered to him were the emotional effects war left on people. After making those programs we would talk about them and our conversations were broader than the programs, he would make them sound much nicer when he was talking about them to me.

When he was at home we never saw anything but love from him and that is all the members of the family. As everybody knows his prayers were very important to him. At home there was never any pressure, because he would create the atmosphere in a way that there was never any tension. About his prayers, they may not have been very long but he seemed to get a lot out of them, he always felt himself to be in the presence of God.

He never spoke of his problems outside at home unless it was something really bothering him, then I could tell myself that there was something wrong. Even when he was very tired he always came in the door with a smile on his face and although he had so much to do outside he always liked to help at home specially shopping all these years I hardly ever went to the store which as you know is a time consuming chore, and most of the time he knew exactly what we needed at home and that was really strange to me.

Since I had a job myself he would take the kids to the doctor and so on. I remember when we heard of Imam's death he was so surprised that how come the world is still going around and nothing has happened, it was strange to him.

 5-His spiritual condition before martyrdom;

 They say the night before martyrdom he prayed and cried all night. He had to spend his last night in a hideout with another soldier who talked about him later. He had kept saying "we are going to the slaughter house".

 He had asked for a handful of earth which the guys had brought to the cemetery, they put it in his hand before the burial. One of the guys who worked with him on the series had wanted to take his picture, but he wouldn’t let him. It was second of April when he called me and said "I am tired pray for me so I'll get to the guys".
